About Us
With over three decades in the music industry, justguitars.com.au is a family run business, dedicated to providing rare, vintage and collectable guitars to discerning buyers, at non-inflated prices - in other words, guitars you can actually afford .
We track down these fine guitars both locally and overseas, thoroughly checking them for condition and original parts. In the interests of maintaining the rare, vintage & collectable aspects of the instrument, we usually make no alterations whatsoever - any alterations or modifications are entirely up to you. We will go over the guitar with a soft cloth before we photograph it, and every now and then we'll need to replace the strings, in order to get the feel of the instrument, but you are essentially receiving the exact same guitar we unearthed in a music store in Chicago, or pawn shop in London, or estate sale in Bendigo, in virtually the same condition as when we found it.
We describe each guitar as fully as possible - model numbers where available, year of manufacture, (sometimes the best anyone can manage is the decade), and the instrument's actual condition. We'll tell you about dings and cracks and fret-wear, scratchy pots, finish-checking, buckle-rash and anything else that you need to know. Our photos will endeavor to show you exactly what you're getting, but if you have any questions, click on the instrument's MORE INFO tab - we'll get back to you ASAP with the answers.
At justguitars.com.au we keep our prices down by passing these instruments on to you without them ever being displayed for retail sale, thereby minimising our overheads. A typical recent saving was a 1998 reissue Fender Stratocaster, in immaculate condition, that we listed at just $1350 - the Sydney session player who picked that one up saved in excess of a thousand dollars! (He has since emailed us to say that this is probably the nicest Strat he's ever played)
Also, we don't try to stock every guitar ever made - just the good ones that we can snaffle at a bargain price. And we don't burden ourselves with a shop full of drums, keyboards and accessories - JUST GUITARS.
Many of our instruments are from the 60s and 70s - the new golden age of guitars - but if we can get a good deal on a 1954 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop or a 1930s National Style `O' resonator, we'll pass it on to you at a price the shopfront dealers won't believe. We'll sometimes also offer select new, discontinued and display models of great contemporary guitars at incredible prices.
And we keep an eye on brands and models that are beginning to attract the attention of collectors overseas, picking up the best of these that we can, before they become too expensive for the Australian market. Harmony, Silvertone, Univox, Eko, Kay, Fernandes, Teisco and Hagstrom are brands that collectors have recently begun to snap up, but we are still managing to score a few of these excellent guitars at realistic prices.
Guitars On HOLD : We do NOT put guitars on hold! It's really annoying to visit a guitar website and find something you're interested in, only to see it ON HOLD. Each and every guitar on the justguitars.com.au site is listed as being FOR SALE, and remains that way until you click on the PURCHASE button. Once you've done the credit card and details thing, that guitar is YOURS.
Finally - if a guitar came to us in a case or gig bag, you won't find us splitting them up and selling the case off separately - if it came with the guitar, you'll receive it with the guitar!
