Description

If you want to play Led Zeppelin’s classic ‘Kashmir’, you need this guitar! Jimmy Page also used his Danelectro Shorthorn model 3021 on ‘When The Levee Breaks’ and ‘In My Time Of Dying’, as well as his old Yardbirds number, ‘White Summer’, which in Zeppelin’s early days was often worked up as a medley with ‘Black Mountain Side’.

Lipstick pickups

Reissued as the ‘Double-cut ’59 Modified’, the guitar is virtually identical to Mr Page’s axe, including a replica of the Leo Quan intonating Badass bridge/tailpiece that Jimmy had added to his guitar during the seventies. This is not the later Chinese-made version, but the highly desirable Korean built model, with adjustable truss-rod, stacked volume/tone pots, ‘Coke bottle’ headstock shape, and – a massive bonus – genuine old stock lipstick pickups!

Intonatable bridge

Danelectro went all out with their attention to detail on this reissue: same double cut, hollow Masonite body as the original model; vintage-style tape edge-binding; vintage replica tuners; deep gloss Black finish… then they made it 21st century playable, with a modern profile neck and fully intonatable bridge.

DADGAD

Switch between your Led Zepp albums and our soundfile and see how spot-on accurate the modern Dano is to the original. And the great playing neck makes it a breeze to nail Jimmy’s sounds – you are going to fall in love with this guitar! HANDY HINT: Jimmy usually played his Dano tuned to DADGAD, (sometimes called sitar tuning).

A real bargain

There are very few of these ’59 reissues in circulation – people bought them and hung onto them. Recent sales in America have been in the US$900 – 1100 range, (AU$1250 – 1500). Original fifties/sixties models are currently going anywhere from US$1800 – $2300, (AU$2500 – 3200), so at just $1025, with a bonus New York Pro gig bag, you’re getting a real bargain here.

Free courier delivery

Recently discovered in a music store’s warehouse in LA, the guitar is in new old stock, (NOS) condition. With FREE COURIER DELIVERY to any address in Australia, ($100 airfreight to New Zealand, $175 to the US, Canada, UK and mainstream European countries. International freight added at checkout), this is a rare opportunity to add a legendary axe to your arsenal
