This highly desirable Surf Green U1 is from the original late nineties reissue series of the classic Danelectro models. These Korean-built models had it in spades over the later Chinese releases, with significantly better build quality than the fifties and sixties models.

You also get vintage ridge-back style deluxe Gotoh tuners, plus a gloriously wide Rosewood fingerboard, (in a really nice shade of rich, dark chocolate), that is so lightly radiused, (20” profile), that it’s almost dead-flat – real vintage style! Lagoon Aqua Lacquer
Most of the first Dano reissues were discontinued early in 2006, and prices immediately began climbing, however at just $890, this 1998 model U1 is a great buy. The highly desirable retro Surf Green finish, (called Lagoon Aqua Lacquer in the original catalogues), is teamed with the classic Dano white edge binding, making a U1 the Joe Cool of cool guitars.
