On a similar scale to the larger of the Gretsch or Gibson thinlines, the Duesenberg CC is about an acre and a half of premium tonewoods, wrapped up in extremely stylish Transparent Orange and Translucent Black lacquer paintwork.

Since hitting the world stage just over twenty years ago, Duesenberg are building some of the finest guitars in the world these days. Little wonder that they’re seen in the hands of such well known big names as Robbie McIntosh, (Pretenders, Paul McCartney, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Sinead O’Connor), Tony Joe White, Paul Carrack, (Ace, UK Squeeze, Mike + The Mechanics), and here, with his own signature model, big name German gunslinger, Carl Carlton.

As well as an enviable string of gold and platimum album production credits, Carlton has played with the likes of Mink de Ville, Joe Cocker, Keb Mo, Jimmy Barnes, Allanah Myles, Simple Minds and many more. With his own band, Songdogs, Carlton keeps going from strength to strength, attracting even more big names along the way; Levon Helm and Garth Hudson of The Band, Sonny Landreth, Marianne Faithfull, Eric Burdon, Klaus Voormann, Roseanne Cash… For a taste of Carlton doing his own thing, we are rather fond of the late night grooves in his 2014 number, ‘Variations Of Jaqueline Kennedy's Pillbox Hat’.
Premium components all the way
With nothing but premium components all the way, the Duesenberg CC features a Spruce top, flame Maple back & sides, solid centre block, Duesneberg’s own Grand Vintage humbucker at the bridge and Domino P90 in the neck position, the two units providing a wide assortment of tones and textures. Our soundfile provided a good idea of just how wide-ranging the CC can be.

Standard features of this great music making machine include a nicely rounded, D-profile, one-piece Hard Rock Maple neck, with a 25½” scale, 22-fret Indian Rosewood fingerboard, (factory Plek’d), Duesenberg’s own super-smooth Diamond Deluxe tremolo system, volume, tone and 3-way selector switch. Trim features include aged cream binding, front and back, gold sparkle pickguard, plus the various shiny metal badges and inserts shown in our photos.

As shown in pic # 7, this is a 2008 model CC. it is in Excellent++ condition and comes complete with its original Duesenberg deluxe hard shell case, (with original case candy).
