So rare are these 1993 built 40th Anniversary badged models, that, at the time we’re listing this, we can only find ONE other for sale, anywhere in the world – and it ain’t a lefty! There’s others available that were built in 1994, but these done towards the end of 1993, in preparation for 1994’s Stratocaster 40th year celebrations, are acknowledged as being just that little bit better.
True Candy Apple Red
There were several 40th Anniversary Stratocaster models, including a Custom Shop job, a Japanese version and a run that featured neckplates numbered from 0001 to 1954. Our American Standard here boasts the exclusive 40th Anniversary headstock badge, (shown in pic # 5), and is finished in true Candy Apple Red, one of the most desirable of all Stratocaster colors.
100% original, including its red tag hard shell case, the guitar is in Excellent- condition, with no fret or fingerboard wear, no neck wear, no edge dings or paint chips. Playwear on the front is largely confined to the scratchplate and the down-stroke area of the body. The back has even less play wear than the front. For a guitar built in 1993, it really hasn’t seen much play time.
That fifties Strat sound
And the tone! Check out our soundfile – this thing has that fifties Strat sound happening by the truckload. It’s almost surprising that this isn’t one of the official Vintage Reissue models.
All the features you want
Alder body, Maple neck & board, (standard 9½” radius), 2-point tremolo system, 5-way selector switch – all the features you want in an American built Strat. A major plus with this guitar, is that Candy Apple Red was not available on American Standard models – other than on a limited number of left-handed models.
