Built by Gibson’s Custom Shop as a US-only special run for the Sam Ash chain of guitar stores, this fabulous 2004 Les Paul Goldtop is no ordinary double-cut model – most feature either a 19/22-fret neck, or 19/24, however this great limited edition model has a really useful 22/24-fret neck joint, that might be the deepest upper fret reach possible – it really lets you access those nosebleed notes!
Player's dream
Also unique to this model, P90 pickups, the rare Antique Gold finish, amber tinted fingerboard inlays to match the paintwork, plus a full black back! Add in the combination of authentic Bigsby and Wilkinson locking roller bridge – which is probably the best bridge & Bigsby combination we’ve encountered – and this guitar is an absolute player’s dream.
Lovely checking
Fully bound Rosewood fingerboard; 3-way pickup selector switch, with vintage-tint switch tip; vintage style Gibson/Kluson Deluxe tuners, with vintage style green-tint keystone buttons. At no extra cost, the lovely checking in the paint work, (pics # 4, 6, 7), usually only found on instruments at least thirty or forty years old, but here courtesy of the Gibson Custom Shop. All that, plus it’s a lefty.
Near Mint condition
This great looking, killer sounding Les Paul – only made across 2003/4 – is in incredibly fine, Near Mint condition, complete with its original Gibson hard shell case, (pics 7, 8 and main). Original Gibson tailpiece and Nashville bridge are in the case.
