Think back into the past. The sixties. Times were what they were. In 1965, when Maton introduced their FG models, Dylan was king and the FG stood for “Folk Guitar”. But, in these modern times, you’re perfectly free to think of the FG100 as a killer bluegrass instrument, on par with such famous imports as Gibson’s SJ and J-45 models, or the Guild D-40, or Martin’s D-18 and D-28.
Classic construction
While the guitars mentioned above are all considered great bluegrass instruments, they’re just as readily acknowledged as great all-rounders, and so too is the Maton FG100. Its dreadnought body features Red Maple back & sides, solid Sitka Spruce top and Maple neck – classic construction for a bright top end and warm mids, atop the perfect low end balance.
Crystal-clear tone and projection
With thirty-five years of ageing behind her, this guitar rings like a bell, with crystal-clear tone and projection, instantly making it stand out from almost every other vintage Maton acoustic we’ve heard. This is a guitar ready to take the lead spot out in front of any band, or to be your perfect solo partner. It will soar and sing with you like you’ve laid out twenty-thousand dollars for it!
Full professional-grade construction
Along with the full professional-grade construction details above, the FG100 also includes Rosewood bridge and headstock overlay, Maton’s original ‘Double-Thrust’ truss rod, mother-of-pearl dot inlays, front & rear binding, adjustable saddle and solid Spruce braces.
