Many big name players over the years have opted for the Guild D-25 dreadnought as their acoustic weapon of choice; Ryan Adams, Andy Hummell of Big Star, John Denver, Paul Westerberg, Slash and many others. And the reason why is simple - tone to die for!
Entirely hand-built at Guild’s old Westerly, Rhode Island plant, well before Fender came knocking, the D-25 is a real workhorse, as solid and dependable as they come - a guitar you can take on the road, into the studio, wherever you need a totally reliable, fabulous sounding acoustic, the D-25 will be there for you.
Spruce top, Mahogany sides and arched Mahogany back, Black binding front & back, with double white piping on top, Mahogany neck with Rosewood fretboard & pearl dot inlays, Rosewood bridge with the original black-dot white bridge pins. The guitar is completely original, and the original Sunburst nitro finish has aged beautifully to almost a natural 3-tone burst.
Similar to the Martin D-18 and D-28 models in design, (but sounding a whole lot warmer), the original model name for these was the D-25 Bluegrass, and while they’ve been used by many famous country & bluegrass players over the years, the D-25 is a dreadnought-size instrument that’s always been extremely popular in every kind of music, as the list at the top testifies.
This beautiful instrument ships in a hard-shell case, (blue felt-lined), which is non-original, but of a similar vintage, and is in likewise very good condition
