Here at Just Guitars we go out of our way to find some of the world’s very best guitars for the Australian music community – this killer Les Paul was waiting for us in Seattle.

Undoubtedly one of the top three Les Pauls we’ve had through in the past five years – and the others were double and triple the price of this one – it’s hard to believe that the AA-grade flamed Maple top – in Gibson’s highly desirable Desert Burst finish – wasn’t set aside for a Custom Shop model. The three images in pic # 4 will give you some idea of how the flame changes with the angle of the light, but the amazing 3D flame of this guitar really has to be seen in person to be believed! Tilt the body just a little and a whole new band of Maple highlights appears, showing different depth and color! Without fail, everyone that has seen this guitar has been completely blown away.

At 9lb 6oz, (4.25kg), this is not one of the pissy “weight relieved” Les Paul Standards. You get the full, unchambered Mahogany slab body, capped with that awesome Maple top, the traditional, easy-playing 60s profile Mahogany neck, PLUS a ball-tearing pair of PAF-stickered Burstbucker pickups! (Neck pickup measures 7.5ohm; bridge 8.2ohm)

This is the cleanest ten year old LP Standard we’ve ever seen. Completed at Gibson’s Nashville plant in early March, 2002, there’s barely a mark on it. If you look very closely, you might just be able to make out some tiny pitting on the cover of the bridge humbucker. That’s it! An incredibly clean, one owner instrument, complete with its original hard shell case, ready to set your world on fire.

Desert Burst is one of Gibson’s coolest finishes, and finding it on a AA-premium top Standard is almost unheard of, but the whole package here is absolutely breathtaking. The natural sustain of the Mahogany and Maple is phenomenal – 25+ seconds of pure, acoustic sustain on the plucked high e-string! Then you plug it in and these pickups will just about lift you right out of your shoes!
