Fender Acoustic-Electric Bass
Using some of their classic sixties designs as a starting point, the BG-29 was Fender’s first ever acoustic bass, so they went all out to get it exactly right – reflected in solid 4½ star reviews by numerous happy owners. From premium timbers to the electronics to the detailing, this is a seriously nice bass!
A dreadnought-size acoustic, Fender added a top-flight Fishman ‘Classic 4’ active pre-amp, for spot-on reproduction of the instrument’s fabulous acoustic tone. The pre-amp provides bass, treble and mid-range adjustment, plus volume and brilliance controls, (see pic # 6).
Built tough, with a laminated Spruce top and laminated Mahogany back & sides, the body features a subtly arched back for a little extra bottom end oomph. The medium scale Mahogany neck, (30” scale), is very similar in profile to today’s standard C-profile – slim and fast and easy playing. The 20-fret Rosewood board joins the body at the 15th fret, with the smooth cutaway giving access right to the 20th fret.
No longer in production, the BG-29 makes an excellent addition to any bass player’s equipment rack – a great option for quiet, unplugged playing in your room or on the road, as well as a seriously full bodied live sound when it’s plugged in to your amp.
Twelve years old and still looking almost brand new, the BG-29 ships in its original padded gig bag, and, as with all Just Guitars instruments, ships FREE, with FastWay couriers, to any address in Australia
