Regal ukulele – Rich Wood model, circa 1950
.............................................................................
Mahogany, Spruce, Rosewood – a winning combination!
The ‘Rich Wood’ soprano ukulele appeared as late as 1951 in the Regal catalogues, but probably first appeared during 1948, or possibly early in 1949. Featuring solid Mahogany back & sides, plus a solid Spruce top and Rosewood extension-style fingerboard, after sixty years of ageing, you can believe every word of the original catalogue claim of “rich, mellow tone.”
All original, (other than a new set of D’Addario J53 Black Nylon strings), including the quality friction pegs, brass frets and the stylish, full-color, Regal crown logo decal on the blackface headstock. This lovely little soprano uke has been played, but numerous small scuffs and dings aside, is in fine condition, and ready to hit the stage at your next gig. (Note: all of the scuffs etc are way less noticeable than suggested by the digital images)
We have timber-filled and sealed the small chip on the top edge below the bridge, (see pic # 7), purely for cosmetic reasons – it was never an issue, and again, is much less noticeable in person than the images suggest.
Fantastically playable, acres of tone and volume, rock-solid, vintage Regal construction – just fantastic value-for-money! But wait, there’s more…
Your vintage Regal ‘Rich Wood’ soprano ukulele ships with the Just Guitars bonus of a brand new, deluxe hard-shell case at no extra cost!
