Perfectly weighted, at bang on 9lb, (a smidge over 4kg), the Alder body, Maple neck and Maple fingerboard is the perfect tone combination for bass. But with the handy S-1 switching, (enabled via the on/off push switch recessed into the top of the tone knob), Fender opened up some new sonic landscape for the P-Bass player, allowing you to spilt the traditional pickup coils from series to parallel, effectively giving you the bonus of Jazz Bass tones at the press of a button!

When we traded this P-Bass there was some moderate buckle-rash on the back, which pulled the condition rating down a little – say 7.5 out of 10 – but we have invested some time and effort in the workshop, and hand polished and buffed the buckle-rash out, and can happily report the condition now as a solid 9. The chrome is all shine and new looking, the Maple fretboard and neck both look like they just left the factory and other than the now largely vanished buckle-rash, the bass shows only very light play wear.
