“Rat Fink” Bass by Lace, 2003, (new old stock), 100% MINT! Probably the last new example of these awesome basses in captivity. From Lace Industries – world famous for their Fender ‘Sensor’ pickups – the Rat Fink line honors legendary hot-rod builder “Big Daddy” Ed Roth and his pioneering work in air-brush artwork. Roth, and his equally legendary cartoon character, “Rat Fink”, became famous worldwide in the sixties.

The limited edition Rat Fink guitar and bass models made their debut in 2002, exclusively produced by Lace Industries, and were virtually impossible to obtain in Australia. Guitar and bass models are now well out of production, and have climbed steadily in price as players discover the combination of awesome build quality and mega cool styling. Aerosmith play Rat Fink guitars – need we say more!

The Rat Fink bass features a Basswood body and a 34” scale Maple neck with Rosewood fretboard, twin tone controls and one volume control. The body and neck are both finished in a rich, high gloss hot-rod Black, against which the chrome hardware really stands out. The pickups in your Rat Fink are the famous 'Powered by Lace' Sensor P-series, (otherwise known as the Fender Precision Bass pickup).

There’s the unique Rat Fink logo on the body, neck plate and headstock, the tinted green scratchplate, and the Rat Fink limited edition number, (# 2799), on the back of the headstock, shown in pic # 5. (Apologies for the old photos) As mentioned above, this is new old stock, received direct from the Lace warehouse, in completely Mint, unplayed condition.
