Fender Bonnie Raitt Signature Stratocaster

Fender Bonnie Raitt Signature Stratocaster

Fender Bonnie Raitt Signature Stratocaster, MINT, 1995*. These awesome Strats have become very hard to find since Fender discontinued the line in 2000 – Bonnie's own favorite color, this stunning Blueburst, is virtually impossible to find. And being a Bonnie Raitt model, the guitar is naturally ideal for blues, but what's most surprising is how loud the three Texas Special pickups are – definitely turn your amp down before you plug in.

As well as the great pickups, several other aspects make the Bonnie Raitt Strat unique, most notably the satin-finished, narrow C-shape maple neck, which has a nice flat profile, wide-radius board, (9.5"), making it a dream to play – especially for anyone with smaller hands. Other features include the lightweight, vintage-routed Ash body, (the body was changed to Alder on later models), large vintage-style headstock, vintage-style Gotoh tuners and vintage-style bridge/tremolo. Five-way selector switch, 22 medium-jumbo frets, original whammy, and the Seymour Duncan Texas Special pickups are a Custom Bridge Antiquity and Texas Hot Strat Antiquities in the neck & middle.

At the time of the 50th anniversary, Bonnie Raitt – the first woman to be honoured with a Strat signature model – had this to say of the iconoclastic Stratocaster. "They're for playing, play them! Let the music live, don't put it in a storehouse somewhere in Tokyo 'cause it's worth thousands of dollars and say, 'Look what I’ve got,’ and show it at parties! That’s not what this is all about." So buy this one, plug it in, play it!

Your mint condition Bonnie Raitt signature model Stratocaster comes in a mint condition Fender hard shell case.

* This particular guitar was made in either late November or some time in December 1995, as the neck date is ’95, (first year of production for the Bonnie Raitt model), but it also flukes a gold Fender 50th Anniversary badge, as production stockpiling of the following year’s anniversary models, (1946 - 1996), began towards the end of November '95
