Made only for a short time during 2000, this great version of Dean’s Icon quickly evolved into the famous Hardtail, launched in 2003 – the Icon was effectively the prototype Hardtail.
Magic
Like a PRS meets a doublecut Les Paul Custom – but cooler – you get a select Maple-topped Honduran Mahogany body, set Mahogany neck, Indian Rosewood fingerboard, Grover kidney bean tuners, dual humbuckers, fully shielded control cavity, string-thru body, Tune-O-Matic bridge, plus the beautiful Transparent Braziliaburst finish – magic!!
Absolutely sensational
So good was the quality of this limited run that most were quickly snapped up by studios and discerning players, and they now almost never appear on the used market. Quite honestly, this is one of the very nicest sounding guitars we’ve ever heard in this price range – and of course it looks absolutely sensational!
Coil-tap
Note that this rare two-knob Icon boasts dual coil-tap, a feature that was later removed in favor of the cheaper four-knob versions. Coil-tap provides incredible versatility to this already awesome axe! Adding to the rarity, this brief model features the original Icon headstock shape, before it was altered to the now classic Dean V, to avoid conflict with PRS.
Brand new
This brand new Icon, (new old stock), features a solid carved Maple top, soft-V carve neck, 22-fret fingerboard, black GraphTech nut*, and premium Abalone dot inlays. It appears to be the only one for sale anywhere in the world at the moment – and certainly the only one in Near Mint condition!
Free courier delivery
In its tweed hard shell case, (also Near Mint), our FREE COURIER DELIVERY is included to any address in Australia – generally 1 - 2 days on the east coast, more distant areas slightly longer. $100 airfreight to New Zealand, (usually 2 days), and $175 to the US, Canada, UK and mainstream European countries, (3 - 5 days)
*The regular 42mm nut width, combined with the soft-V carve, makes for a fantastically smooth-playing neck!
