Back in 1965, when Maton introduced their FG models, contemporary acoustic music was Bob Dylan and the FG stood for “Folk Guitar”. But, music has changed a lot since then, and the FG100 can now be viewed as a killer folk or bluegrass or indie acoustic guitar, on par with such famous imports as Gibson’s SJ and J-45 models, or the Guild D-40, or Martin’s D-18 and D-28. Great all-rounder
This great all-rounder features a dreadnought body with Red Maple back & sides, solid Sitka Spruce top and a Maple neck – classic construction for a bright top end and warm mids, with a perfect low end balance.
Full professional-grade construction
Full professional-grade components and construction also includes a Rosewood bridge and headstock overlay, Maton’s original ‘Double-Thrust’ truss rod, mother-of-pearl dot inlays, front & rear binding, adjustable saddle and solid, hand-carved Spruce bracing.
Very Good condition
The original low-profile frets are in Very Good condition, with light play wear only, (mostly in the first three positions). There are slight divots in the Rosewood, across the first few positions, which could easily be invisibly filled. Action is perfect and overall condition is Very Good++.
