Looks and sound
Obviously, the Hollowbody isn’t just a great sounding guitar, it’s also an incredibly good looking one. With its carved flame Maple top, carved flame Maple back, Mahogany rims and Mahogany neck, it’s premium timbers all the way. Nitro finishing – in Faded Whale Blue** – ensures perfect ageing, for both looks and sound.
Birds
The Mahogany neck profile is the PRS ‘Pattern’, modeled on the vintage ‘Wide Fat’ necks that Paul Reed Smith shaped for Carlos Santana, Peter Frampton and Howard Leese, back in the day. The neck is topped with a gloriously dark Indian Rosewood fingerboard. The dark Rosewood sets off the now famous PRS birds beautifully. (From the nut down, the mother-of-pearl birds*** are; Peregrine Falcon, Marsh Hawk, Ruby Throated Hummingbird, Common Tern, Coopers Hawk, Kite, Sparrow (landing), Stormy Petrel, Hawk (landing). 24-fret models have the additional Screech Owl (on a branch).

Nickel hardware, Phase III locking tuners, those 58/15 pickups, dual output jacks, (pic # 5), the adjustable LR Baggs-designed piezo stoptail bridge, with individual piezo pickups for each string – this is one mighty, mighty fine guitar. If you can find a Hollowbody II in Australia, the retail price will range anywhere from $8000 up to more than $10,000. This Near Mint 2016 model, complete with its original PRS hard shell case and case candy, is a big saving on those prices!
Weight
Oh, and the weight – almost nothing! Our Hollowbody II weighs only 5lb 9oz. You could play a four hour gig, (see Goose), with this and barely know it was there.
