To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Primal Scream’s landmark Screamadelica album, in 2021 Fender issued the limited edition Screamadelica Stratocaster, featuring the album’s iconic front cover artwork. Released in September 1991, the album, the singles, the remixes, the artwork seemed to be everywhere for the next five years, firmly establishing house as the hottest club music on the planet. The band’s live shows were phenomenal experiences, and this limited edition Strat will instantly evoke those heady, trippy days for anyone that was along for the ride.
Brand new
The standard Screamadelica Strat that was available in most markets featured a Pau Ferro fingerboard and was fully MIM, and shipped with a gig bag. This brand new and exclusive UK export model boasts an American Professional series one-piece Maple neck & fingerboard and deluxe Fender hard shell case. (The Maple works much better with the Screamadelica artwork) The upgrades would take the price to around $3350. Other than recording our soundfile, the guitar is brand new, with the protective plastic still on the scratchplate, neckplate and backplate.
Vintage-voiced
The combination of the Alder body and 60’s vintage-voiced, balanced Strat single-coil pickups, (which are deliberately not noiseless), deliver an awesome wide open sound that easily covers anything you want to chuck at it. The metal is Fender’s 2-point synchronized tremolo with vintage-style bent steel saddles, (double-stamped).
