With a custom built body of super-dry White Pine – recycled from hundred year old American mid-west barn doors – and a fantastic sounding, calibrated set of Tonerider 'Classic Blues' pickups, here's the machine that's gonna make your blues-rock dreams come true.
Classic Blues
The ultra-dry White Pine has a chiming tone that your average Strat is unable to match, and though there's some terrific sounding blues/blues-rock aftermarket pickups available from Fender and other manufacturers, these Tonerider 'Classic Blues' are the absolute perfect match for the old wood. And when we mentioned "ultra-dry", we meant it – the whole thing weighs just 7lb, (3.2kg)! Some pines and other very old timbers are known for the amazing resonances that start to become apparent in the sixty to eighty year region, some improving even more to around eighty to a hundred years, especially if they've been exposed to bitterly cold winters and hot, windy summers. Been everywhere - done it all!
As well as outstanding timber and pickups, your pinup girl Strat also features Gotoh locking tuners*, (see pic # 5), chicken-head tone & volume knobs, 5-way pickup switching and a 6-point tremolo/bridge system. The 22-fret one-piece Maple neck is by MightyMite and has a rounded modern V-profile. The relic work is really well done, giving the impression of an axe that's been everywhere – and done it all. Oh, and the pinup girl, of course! Looking a little like a 1940s Drew Barrymore, her right foot dangles in mid-air, ready to kick your whammy bar into action.
