Fully hand built
Fully hand built at Gibson’s Bozeman, Montana acoustic facility, the body timbers of the HP-635 are all sustainably North American sourced – solid Walnut back and sides, solid AA-grade Sitka Spruce top. The two timbers also feature in the super solid, 3-piece Maple-Walnut-Maple neck. The body and neck combination of these premium woods delivers all the warmth of Mahogany, plus the spark of Maple.
Incredibly easy playing
Front-on the body is 16” dread-size, but, with a slightly thinner 4” depth, it makes for an incredibly easy playing guitar! And with scalloped Spruce bracing, plus a true dovetail neck joint, (hot hide glue), you get the full bottom end and all the projection of a less-wieldy, larger instrument.
An amazing package!
The top flight features continue in abundance: stylish black front and rear binding; mother-of-pearl dot fingerboard inlays; Tusq nut and saddle; Grover Mini-Rotomatic 14:1 ratio tuners; LR Baggs ‘Element’ active pickup system; and true Antique Natural nitrocellulose lacquer finish. An amazing package!
Great string separation and detail
The Plek’d neck plays beautifully, with great string separation and detail, enhanced by an extremely player friendly rounded-V profile and an extra-flat 16” radius, (super-easy bends for electric players!).
