Eight decades of the J-45! The model has been around so long that some people are sure it was the original guitar that Gibson started with. (The first proper guitar from Gibson was an arch-topped L-1, in 1902 – forty years earlier) Still, the J-45 is one of the alltime great acoustic flattops, along with several other Gibson models, and Martin’s famous D-28.

Owned by the one professional player from new, the striking nitro sunburst finish and tortoise scratchplate immediately draw the eye in, while the all solid timber construction allows the body to ring with 16 seconds of natural sustain – and the great players’ bonus is that, having left the factory with Gibson’s own under-saddle piezo pickup installed, this killer J-45s is stage ready as soon as you pop the latches on the case.

Vintage-style

Solid Sitka Spruce top, solid Mahogany back & sides, Indian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, , (pearl dot inlays on both), tall, vintage-style bracing, vintage-style tuners, traditional 3-ply top binding… completed in April of 2003, the guitar looks almost 1942!
