Unlike one or two of the other big guitar names, when Gibson set out to bring back one of the alltime great models, they either do it absolutely faithfully, or any minor tweaks that might be made, make absolute sense, ensuring the guitar is a perfect fit for the modern player.

And so, in 2013, when they brought back the LG-2 name after a fifty year absence, the two main tweaks were both very minor and very much perfect for today: prime Sitka Spruce replacing the Red Spruce or Mahogany tops of the forties; plus an LR Baggs ‘Element’ pickup system, making the guitar immediately gigable.
