With timbers that have now aged for almost forty-five years, this great Australian built classic rings like a bell, with crystal-clear tone and projection, instantly making it stand out in any room. This is a guitar ready to take the lead spot out in front of a band, or to be cherished as your perfect solo partner.
Back in 1965, when Maton introduced their FG models, contemporary acoustic music was Bob Dylan and the FG stood for “Folk Guitar”. But, music has changed a lot since then, and the FG100 can now be viewed as a killer folk or bluegrass or indie acoustic guitar, on par with such famous imports as Gibson’s SJ and J-45 models, or the Guild D-40, or Martin’s D-18 and D-28. Listen to our all Australian soundfile and picture it bringing that fabulous tone to your music.
This great all-rounder features a dreadnought body with Red Maple back & sides, solid Sitka Spruce top and a Maple neck – classic construction for a bright top end and warm mids, with a perfect low end balance.
Full professional-grade construction
Full professional-grade components and construction also includes a Rosewood bridge and headstock overlay, Maton’s original ‘Double-Thrust’ truss rod, mother-of-pearl dot inlays, front & rear binding, adjustable saddle and solid, hand-carved Spruce bracing.
Very Good condition
The original low-profile frets are in Very Good condition, with light play wear only, (mostly in the first three positions). There are slight divots in the Rosewood, across the first few positions, which could easily be invisibly filled. Action is perfect and overall condition is Very Good++.
Free courier delivery
The FG100 comes complete with what could be a slightly later period, deluxe hard shell case, (see right and pic # 8). Free courier delivery is included to any Australian address, or $100 airfreight to New Zealand, $175 to the US, Canada, UK and mainstream European countries
