Famous players
Gaining immediate and profound acceptance from its very first appearance in 1965, the 330/12 has been one of the mainstays of the Rickenbacker line ever since. The Who's Pete Townshend owned the first 330/12 ever produced, and other famous players through the years have included Tom Petty, Thom Yorke, Paul Weller, Johnny Marr and REM's Peter Buck.
Very limited numbers
Alongside the standard color options of Mapleglo, Jetglo, Fireglo and Autumnglo, Rickenbacker offer the 330 six and twelve-string models in White from the early seventies until 1999, though only in very limited numbers. This superb example from 1987 is in truly wonderful condition, with the original White finish having aged to a lovely and highly desirable Buttermilk, giving the guitar real character – in fact, the warm, even Buttermilk looks much nicer than the original stark White would ever have looked. And the Black chrome hardware sits against the aged finish perfectly.
Appointments
Top-flight appointments include all Maple construction, (the top and sides carved and hollowed out from a single, solid piece); Maple neck, with the famous Rickenbacker dual truss rod system; 24-fret Rosewood board with micro-dot markers; original Schaller tuners and famous split-level scratchplate. All hardware, from the tuners to the stylish 'R' tailpiece are black chrome! Electronics include a 3-way pickup selector switch, separate tone and volume controls, plus master volume control.
